The Rise House is already being put to wonderful use. We’re hosting quarterly dinners where women can connect and commune. We also had the pleasure of hosting a group for the Festival of Faith and Writing. Reach out to Holly if you are interested in visiting!
We believe that women should have a place to rest, learn, connect, play, and create where money is not a barrier. Our monthly donors cover every cost at the house so that women can come and use the space however they need to — no matter their ability to pay. Our goal is to have the Rise House operating budget ($4,000/month) fully covered by the end of April. We are 75% of the way funded, but could use your help to get us over the finish line. Would you consider becoming a monthly contributor?
Speaking of the Rise House… Later this month, the women of the board are gathering in person for the first time since 2019! We are looking forward to meeting each other and dreaming about the next year of Rise. Please pray for our time together. If you are in the DFW area, consider joining us for dinner on Saturday (4/23).
Rise Community Survey
We are looking to expand and enrich the ways that our community connects. In an effort to do so most helpfully, we’d like to incorporate your feedback. Could you spare a few minutes to respond to tell us about your experience with Rise? It’s quick, we promise!
Community Fund
We are a powerful community who actively shoulders each other’s burdens and celebrates each other’s wins. One form this takes is meetings the material needs of women connected to Rise. So far in 2022, we have dispensed more than $8,000 of community funds to women facing evictions, running low on medication, grieving losses, and needing meals.
Follow Holly Stallcup & the Rise Twitter feed for timely opportunities to support when those needs arise.
The Women of Rise
At the beating heart of what we do are the women of Rise, connected to each other across geography & time zones. Each month, we’d love to acquaint you with some of the faces of our community.
Leah Wrenne
Rise Community Member
Leah Wrenne is a singer/songwriter based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Blending soul and indie-folk elements together, her goal is to write songs that help people to be honest about life’s ups and downs while reminding them that they are not without the hope of Jesus. Inspired by her birth name and Matthew 6:26, Leah Wrenne means “a songbird of the meadows.” This name is a reminder to the artist that the Lord is faithful to provide.
